Witchblade cancelled

Witchblade has been cancelled.

Some speculate that her need to spend a month in alcohol rehab half way thru the second season might have made TNT jittery about gambling on a third season.

But this report claims a much shorter time for the rehab:

Shortly after this interview, Butler checked herself into an alcohol rehab facility. After undergoing treatment for about a week, she emerged and appeared ready to begin filming the remaining episodes for the second season of "Witchblade."

Anthony Cistaro appeals to fans to petition TNT to continue Witchblade. If you want to help try to save Witchblade then go here and follow one or more of the suggestions.

I personally think Witchblade is a great show. Petitions did help give Roswell extra seasons before it was finally cancelled. So its quite possible that WB and either TNT or another network could be persuaded to keep Witchblade going for another season.

WitchBlade Canceled- The show was in the middle of a story, how can they just drop it and not at least finish the season out and either finish the story or continue?

And here I was JUST WAITING for the new Witchblade season to start! I loved the first two seasons. So . . .instead of giving Butler credit for needing some help, they cancel the show? I'm fed up--all the TV stations are filled with survival shows and talents shows (am I back in the 50's?) and shows with some style, class, and story content get cancelled! And if you think this comes from a 20-35 year old, guess again! I'm 63 and I think Witchblade, and the cast (especially Butler), is great. Get with the program folks! Some of us don't really care who the lastest cast off from some desert island (or Brazil or wherever)is. Some of us like good television.

They said they cancelled Witchblade because of Yancy Butler's problem? First of all, she was out in a week or however long it was, and finshed shooting season 2 and they think it would be a gamble to make season 3?Instead they leave the season off in a cliffhanger?and they think it was a fitting conclusion? She got the help she needed and they cancelled it because she wanted to get off the bottle?I hope another channel picks the show up and I hope they have the same cast!!!

The show was wonderful and left fans in 'limbo'...wanting more... it still 'is' one of the best series on television. The TV movie of Witchblade made you want to go back each week to find out what was going to happen next. Gripping, thought-provoking, and very mystical.

It's five years later and I'm still pissed!

I heard it was because Nancy Butler was an alcaholic, and had to enter rehab.
